Se trata de <strong>&#8216;Desarrollo de formulaciones derivadas de \u00e1cido polil\u00e1ctico (PLA), mediante plastificaci\u00f3n e incorporaci\u00f3n de aditivos de origen natural&#8217;<\/strong>. Esta ha sido realizada por el investigador del Departamento de Materiales, <strong>Jos\u00e9 Miguel Ferri Azor<\/strong>, y dirigida por los profesores del campus Rafael Balart y Octavio Fenollar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En su tesis, <strong>Jos\u00e9 Miguel Ferri se ha centrado<\/strong> en la &#8220;<em>modificaci\u00f3n de las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas\u00a0y t\u00e9rmicas del \u00e1cido polil\u00e1ctico<\/em>&#8220;, uno de los pol\u00edmeros biodegradables <strong>m\u00e1s utilizados y candidato a sustituir<\/strong>, en muchas aplicaciones, a los pol\u00edmeros convencionales obtenidos a partir del petr\u00f3leo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El investigador del Campus de Alcoy <strong>explica con m\u00e1s profundidad su Tesis Doctoral<\/strong>: &#8220;<em>En las investigaciones se estudian diferentes sistemas de plastificaci\u00f3n de este pol\u00edmero ya que algunas de sus desventajas son su fragilidad y su procesabilidad.\u00a0 Diferentes plastificantes naturales, adem\u00e1s de plastificar, pueden actuar como agentes compatibilizantes entre mezclas (blends) de pol\u00edmeros biodegradables inmiscibles, aportando mayor ductilidad al PLA. Estos sistemas de plastificaci\u00f3n son posibles gracias a aceites vegetales de soja y linaza modificados qu\u00edmicamente<\/em>&#8220;, indica. Adem\u00e1s\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Miguel Ferri <strong>sostiene que el \u00e1cido polil\u00e1ctico<\/strong> &#8220;<em>tiene bastantes aplicaciones en diferentes campos, aunque algunas a\u00fan no se han transferido a la industria<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ferri tiene la intenci\u00f3n de <strong>continuar investigando<\/strong>, en el Departamento de Mec\u00e1nica y de Materiales, <strong>en la misma l\u00ednea de materiales biodegradables<\/strong>\u00a0ya que hoy en d\u00eda &#8220;<em>existe un gran problema medioambiental debido al uso masivo de pl\u00e1sticos convencionales que no se degradan.
