{"id":173132,"date":"2026-09-29T12:48:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T11:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.copealcoy.es\/?p=173132"},"modified":"2026-09-29T12:55:06","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T11:55:06","slug":"sant-jordi-el-xicotet-acude-en-peregrinacion-a-la-capilla-de-san-miguel-de-alcoy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.copealcoy.es\/es\/sant-jordi-el-xicotet-acude-en-peregrinacion-a-la-capilla-de-san-miguel-de-alcoy\/","title":{"rendered":"Sant Jordi &#8216;El Xicotet&#8217; acude en peregrinaci\u00f3n a la Capilla de San Miguel de Alcoy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">La<strong> festividad de San Miguel Arc\u00e1ngel <\/strong>ha dejado este martes 29 de septiembre <strong>una estampa excepcional en pleno Centro de Alcoy.<\/strong> Todo ello debido a que la imagen de <strong>San Jorge \u2018El Xicotet\u2019 ha visitado la hist\u00f3rica Capilla de San Miguel con motivo del <a href=\"https:\/\/750sanjorge.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">750 aniversario del patronazgo del insigne m\u00e1rtir<\/span> <\/a>sobre la ciudad<\/strong>, una presencia extraordinaria que se suma a la celebraci\u00f3n anual que tiene lugar en su honor en un d\u00eda como hoy en este enclave estrechamente vinculado a la industria textil alcoyana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cabe destacar que &#8216;El Xicotet&#8217; ha llegado <strong>a primera hora de la ma\u00f1ana procedente de su iglesia<\/strong> y ha sido situado en el interior del peque\u00f1o templo junto a la talla de San Miguel, ubicada en la hornacina central del altar mayor. Ya a mediod\u00eda, ambas im\u00e1genes han presidido <strong>la eucarist\u00eda oficiada por Don Jes\u00fas Fuentes, titular de las parroquias del Centro de Alcoy, <\/strong>y que ha contado con una nutrida asistencia de fieles. Tras ello, se podr\u00e1 visitar la Capilla durante gran parte del d\u00eda permaneciendo San Jorge en ella <strong>hasta las seis de la tarde<\/strong> ya que en ese momento ser\u00e1 trasladado hasta el <strong>Colegio Santa Ana<\/strong> para continuar con las peregrinaciones que est\u00e1 protagonizando en el marco del A\u00f1o Jubilar concedido por la Santa Sede a Alcoy para celebrar el\u00a0750 aniversario del patronazgo del santo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">La visita de San Jorge ha tenido lugar en el d\u00eda <strong>de los santos arc\u00e1ngeles San Miguel, San Gabriel y San Rafael, que se conmemora cada 29 de septiembre,<\/strong> una fecha que tiene un significado especial en la capital de l&#8217;Alcoi\u00e0 puesto que <strong>San Miguel es patr\u00f3n del gremio textil<\/strong>, actividad que ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel fundamental en la historia y el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico de la ciudad. Buena muestra de ese estrecho v\u00ednculo es la <strong>Capilla de San Miguel, situada en la calle Santa Rita<\/strong>. El templo fue construido en 1790, pertenece a la agrupaci\u00f3n empresarial <strong>Textil Alcoyana<\/strong> y fue ampliado en 1875 por Jos\u00e9 Molt\u00f3 Valor.
