{"id":170651,"date":"2026-07-27T08:30:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T07:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.copealcoy.es\/?p=170651"},"modified":"2026-07-27T11:02:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T10:02:28","slug":"la-memoria-de-alvaro-vercher-ya-tiene-un-lugar-en-quatretondeta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.copealcoy.es\/es\/la-memoria-de-alvaro-vercher-ya-tiene-un-lugar-en-quatretondeta\/","title":{"rendered":"La memoria de \u00c1lvaro Vercher ya tiene un lugar en Quatretondeta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.quatretondeta.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Quatretondeta<\/strong><\/span><\/a> inaugur\u00f3 el pasado <strong>22 de julio<\/strong> un <strong>mural informativo<\/strong> dedicado a <strong>\u00c1lvaro Vercher Cortell<\/strong>, vecino del municipio y v\u00edctima del nazismo, asesinado con tan solo <strong>24 a\u00f1os<\/strong> en el campo de <strong>Gusen<\/strong>, subcampo integrado en el complejo concentracionario de <strong>Mauthausen<\/strong>. El acto reuni\u00f3 a numerosos <strong>vecinos, familiares y descendientes<\/strong> de \u00c1lvaro, que participaron en un homenaje cargado de emoci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uno de los momentos m\u00e1s significativos lleg\u00f3 con la lectura de una carta que Vercher envi\u00f3 a sus padres desde un <strong>campo de refugiados de Francia<\/strong>, en <strong>noviembre de 1939<\/strong>. El texto, le\u00eddo por un sobrino nieto, permiti\u00f3 a los asistentes conocer de primera mano las vivencias del exilio, la separaci\u00f3n familiar y la incertidumbre que marc\u00f3 sus \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. Nacido en <strong>Quatretondeta<\/strong> el <strong>7 de octubre de 1917<\/strong>, \u00c1lvaro Vercher trabaj\u00f3 como ch\u00f3fer en la <strong>F\u00e1brica n\u00famero 4 de la Comisi\u00f3n de Industrias de Guerra de la Generalitat de Catalu\u00f1a<\/strong>, ubicada en la Canya. Movilizado como <strong>soldado republicano<\/strong> en <strong>1938<\/strong>, se exili\u00f3 a Francia tras la derrota de la Rep\u00fablica. Durante la <strong>Segunda Guerra Mundial<\/strong> fue capturado por las tropas alemanas, deportado al campo de <strong>Mauthausen<\/strong> y posteriormente trasladado a <strong>Gusen<\/strong>, donde fue asesinado por los nazis el <strong>15 de enero de 1942 <\/strong><em>&#8220;la trayectoria de \u00c1lvaro resume la experiencia de toda una generaci\u00f3n: fue trabajador, soldado republicano, exiliado, refugiado, prisionero de guerra y deportado a Mauthausen. La investigaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica permite recorrer el camino inverso al que sigui\u00f3 el sistema nazi: recuperar su nombre, reconstruir su vida y devolverlo a la memoria de su familia y de Quatretondeta&#8221;<\/em>, explic\u00f3 el <strong>historiador Jordi Ortiz<\/strong>, encargado de presentar la investigaci\u00f3n sobre la vida del vecino.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">El homenaje sirvi\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n para reafirmar el compromiso del municipio con la <strong>memoria democr\u00e1tica<\/strong>. El alcalde de <strong>Quatretondeta<\/strong> agradeci\u00f3 en este sentido la presencia de los familiares de \u00c1lvaro y la implicaci\u00f3n del vecindario en un acto que busca preservar el recuerdo de las v\u00edctimas de aquellos hechos &#8220;<em>hoy Quatretondeta devuelve a \u00c1lvaro el lugar que le corresponde en la memoria de nuestro pueblo. Su familia ha mantenido vivo su recuerdo durante generaciones y este mural convierte esa memoria familiar en patrimonio de toda la ciudadan\u00eda. Reconocer su historia significa defender la democracia, la libertad, la igualdad, la justicia social, la paz y la dignidad humana. Queremos que este sea tambi\u00e9n un espacio de educaci\u00f3n y reflexi\u00f3n para las generaciones futuras&#8221;<\/em>, destac\u00f3 el primer edil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">La inauguraci\u00f3n se celebr\u00f3 en el marco de <strong>Shadows of Occupation<\/strong>, un proyecto europeo impulsado por <strong>ASEID<\/strong> con el apoyo del <strong>Ayuntamiento de Quatretondeta<\/strong> y del programa <strong>Europa Creativa<\/strong>.
