Sin embargo, <strong>su verdadera pasi\u00f3n se encontr\u00f3 en la Gimnasia Art\u00edstica<\/strong>, disciplina que impuls\u00f3 con gran dedicaci\u00f3n tras fundar en 1974 el Club Gimnasia Alcoi, el primer club de esta modalidad en la provincia de Alicante.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A lo largo de su carrera, Octavio no solo promovi\u00f3 la Gimnasia Art\u00edstica, sino que t<strong>ambi\u00e9n fue un ferviente defensor del deporte femenino<\/strong> y contribuy\u00f3 a la organizaci\u00f3n de competiciones pioneras como el F\u00fatbol Sala en Espa\u00f1a. Su esfuerzo llev\u00f3 a Alcoy a ser sede de importantes eventos deportivos, incluyendo los Campeonatos de Espa\u00f1a de Gimnasia Art\u00edstica y un Encuentro Internacional entre Espa\u00f1a y Estados Unidos. Adem\u00e1s, form\u00f3 parte de la expedici\u00f3n nacional en los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de Los \u00c1ngeles 1984. Como <strong>entrenador<\/strong>, dej\u00f3 una huella imborrable al formar a numerosas gimnastas que lograron \u00e9xitos a nivel nacional y representaron con orgullo a Alcoy. Entre sus alumnas destacan <strong>Susana \u00c1ngulo y Lara Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, quienes alcanzaron importantes logros gracias a su dedicaci\u00f3n. En reconocimiento a su trayectoria, recibi\u00f3 en 1998 la Insignia de Oro y Brillantes del OAM Centre d&#8217;Esports d&#8217;Alcoi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desde el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alcoi.org\/ca\/portal\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Ayuntamiento de Alcoy<\/span><\/strong> <\/a><strong>han expresado las condolencias por el fallecimiento de Octavio Fuentes y han transmitido un mensaje de apoyo tanto a familiares como amigos<\/strong> en estos momentos. Adem\u00e1s, el consistorio <strong>ha resaltado el legado y trayectoria de Fuentes<\/strong> &#8220;<em>hoy despedimos a una de las personas m\u00e1s importantes en la historia del deporte alcoyano. Octavio no solo form\u00f3 a grandes deportistas, sino que inculc\u00f3 valores de esfuerzo, pasi\u00f3n y compromiso a cientos de j\u00f3venes. Su legado perdurar\u00e1 en Alcoy y en el coraz\u00f3n de todos los que tuvimos el privilegio de conocerle.
