{"id":147476,"date":"2025-02-12T08:05:14","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T07:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.copealcoy.es\/?p=147476"},"modified":"2025-02-12T13:44:20","modified_gmt":"2025-02-12T12:44:20","slug":"el-venerable-escuder-una-figura-relevante-en-la-historia-de-cocentaina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.copealcoy.es\/es\/el-venerable-escuder-una-figura-relevante-en-la-historia-de-cocentaina\/","title":{"rendered":"El Venerable Escuder, una figura relevante en la historia de Cocentaina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cocentaina.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Cocentaina<\/strong><\/span><\/a> ha decidido reivindicar <strong>la figura hist\u00f3rica del Venerable Escuder,<\/strong> un personaje controvertido y poco conocido que <strong>desempe\u00f1\u00f3 un papel fundamental<\/strong> en la Corona de Arag\u00f3n durante los siglos XIV y XV. Joan Escuder, tambi\u00e9n conocido como Pere Joan Escuder, naci\u00f3 alrededor de 1350, aunque algunas fuentes afirman que era natural de Catalu\u00f1a. Falleci\u00f3 a los 94 a\u00f1os, una edad excepcional para la \u00e9poca, entre 1443 y 1444 en la ermita de Sant Crist\u00f2fol, donde se dedic\u00f3 a la contemplaci\u00f3n divina, la penitencia y la oraci\u00f3n. Cuenta la leyenda que su fallecimiento se produjo el 31 de diciembre y que <strong>la campana del ermitorio ta\u00f1\u00eda sin cesar<\/strong> advirtiendo de la noticia a las casas de campo cercanas, todo ello sin que nadie volteara el bronce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La figura del Venerable Escuder <strong>est\u00e1 rodeada de historias y milagros<\/strong> que le valieron el t\u00edtulo de &#8220;Venerable&#8221;, una distinci\u00f3n reservada a aquellos difuntos con virtudes cristianas que son candidatos a ser beatificados. Sin embargo, <strong>es especialmente conocido por sus profec\u00edas<\/strong>, conservadas en copias de los siglos XVI y XVIII. Entre sus predicciones <strong>destaca<\/strong> una revuelta musulmana, una invasi\u00f3n por parte de otro reino cristiano y el encarcelamiento de Alfonso el Magn\u00e1nimo, profec\u00eda que le proporcion\u00f3 el favor de la reina Mar\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La trascendencia del Venerable Escuder, ha llevado al Ayuntamiento contestano a <strong>colocar una placa en su memoria<\/strong> en la fachada de la misma ermita de Sant Crist\u00f2fol. De esta forma se reivindica su papel como profeta, penitente y religioso &#8220;su figura ha sido poco estudiada y existen muchas inc\u00f3gnitas en torno a su vida y obra, pero, sin duda, merece ser reivindicada por la historiograf\u00eda y la sociedad valenciana actual.
