Seguidamente ya se han podido escuchar en la ciudad las escaramuzas y los primeros sonidos de los arcabuces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A las diez de la ma\u00f1ana ha llegado el Estafeta a las puertas del Castillo para pedir al Capit\u00e1n Cristiano la rendici\u00f3n de la Villa de Alcoy. Al ser rechazado ha tomado veloz carrera por la calle San Nicol\u00e1s y a continuaci\u00f3n el embajador, acompa\u00f1ado de su s\u00e9quito, he llegado a la Plaza para entablar batalla con las tropas de la cruz. El di\u00e1logo no ha llegado a ning\u00fan acuerdo y las palabras han dado paso a las armas con una cruenta batalla de arcabucer\u00eda que ha sido atronadora y que se ha podido escuchar desde diferentes puntos de Alcoy. Recordar que los festeros quemar\u00e1n en la jornada de hoy cerca de 2.700 kilos de p\u00f3lvora.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los cargos festeros, al llegar a la bandeja, han tomado las armas y han protagonizado la lucha que ha acabado con la victoria de las fuerzas mahometanas y el hizado de la bandera de la media luna en lo alto del Castillo.
